Prof. Chun Cheng

The president of Nantong Institute of Technology

Biography:

Chun Cheng, of Han ethnicity, from Dongtai, Jiangsu Province, is a member of the Communist Party of China. He holds a graduate degree and a Master’s degree and is a professor (Level 2) and doctoral supervisor. Dr. Cheng has previously served as the president of Nantong University and the Party Secretary of Changzhou University and Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine. He currently serves as a member of the Standing Committee of the Jiangsu Provincial People's Congress, a member of the Committee on Ethnic and Religious Affairs of the Provincial People's Congress, a standing committee member of Jiangsu Association for Science and Technology, and the president of Nantong Institute of Technology.

Prof. Cheng has been engaged in higher education management and has conducted substantial research in areas such as higher education administration, medical education, and laboratory construction. The awards and honors that Prof. Cheng has received are countless: Special Prize of Jiangsu Provincial Teaching Achievement Award (Higher Education Category) for his project titled Enhancing Comprehensive Abilities and Innovative Practices of Medical Students through Clinical Skills Training; three awards of Jiangsu Provincial Teaching Achievement, two awards of Research Achievements in Philosophy and Social Sciences at Jiangsu Province Higher Education Institutions. Prof. Cheng’s researches focus on neuroimmunology and tumor immunology, and he has chaired over 20 research projects, including those funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and has received four provincial and ministerial-level scientific and technological progress awards. Prof. Cheng has published more than 90 papers in Science Citation Index and has been the primary co-editor of four textbooks. Cheng has served as the vice-chairman of the Maritime Medicine Branch of the Chinese Medical Association, vice-president of the Jiangsu Biotech Society, executive council member of the Jiangsu Branch of the Chinese Society for Immunology, director of the Jiangsu Provincial Key Laboratory of Inflammation and Molecular Drug Targets, Standing Council Member of the Higher Education Management Research Association of the China Association of Higher Education, the Standing Council Member of the National Higher Education Teaching Research Association, and Vice Chairman of the Jiangsu Provincial Medical Education Research Association for Higher Education Institutions.

Prof. Zhiguo Zhao

Dean of College of Traffic Engineering

Biography:

Zhiguo Zhao, Doctor of Engineering, Professor, Doctoral Supervisor. He is currently the dean of the School of Transportation Engineering of Huaiyin University of Technology. He is the head of Jiangsu Higher Education Schools Excellent Science and Technology Innovation Team, and the cultivation object of Jiangsu Province “Six Talent Peaks” high-level talents. He is currently a member of the Automotive Dynamics Branch of the Chinese Society of Automotive Engineering and a member of the Intelligent Vehicle Committee of Jiangsu Province.

He has long been engaged in automotive system dynamics and its related fields, conducting research in vehicle dynamics and control, automotive safety and energy saving technology, intelligent network and new energy vehicles, etc. He has presided over 2 projects of National Natural Science Foundation of China (surface + youth), participated in more than 10 national, provincial and ministerial scientific research projects, and 5 industry-university-research cooperation projects with enterprises and public institutions, and has been awarded with 2 scientific and technological prizes at or above municipal and departmental levels, and 10 invention patents. Authorized 10 invention patents, published more than 20 high-level academic papers, guiding students to obtain Jiangsu provincial excellent graduation design 1.

Assoc. Prof. Leong Lee Vien

Corporate Member of Institution of Engineers Malaysia (IEM)

Biography:

Associate Professor Leong Lee Vien is a full-time academic in the Faculty of Housing, Architecture and Planning at Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) and has been a Lecturer in the Department of Civil Engineering since 2004 and was promoted to Associate Professor in 2012. He holds a practicing certificate as a Professional Engineer from the Institution of Engineers Malaysia (BEM) and is a corporate member of the Institution of Engineers Malaysia (IEM) and a life member of the Road Engineering Association of Malaysia (REAM) and the Road Engineering Association of Southeast Asia (REAAA). He has led or participated in more than 100 transportation consultancy projects in the field of transportation engineering.

Associate Professor Leong Lee Vien's research interests cover the areas of highway capacity studies, traffic impact assessment (TIA), motorcycle driving behavior, traffic demand modeling, trip generation and traffic engineering. He has extensive research achievements in traffic planning and management, transportation engineering, etc. He has published 27 academic papers and completed 12 national research grant projects.
